Features
A lovely group of creeping or climbing epiphytes that produce a cascade of tidy, thick foliage. Under ideal conditions white flowers appear throughout the year and may be followed by orange berries.
This plant has a special relationship with ants and it is often found growing on ant mounds in its native regions of Central and South America. Ants are important for pollination. They also feed on the flower nectar and seed pulp, and carry seeds back to their nest where the loose soil, and protection from predators, is an ideal setting for seeds to sprout and grow.
Uses
Excellent grown in containers indoors or outdoors during warm weather. Perfect for hanging baskets. Makes a lovely, easy-care gift plant.
