Features
Lithops, or as they are known commonly, living stone plants, are a group of succulents out of Southern Africa that more than live up to their names. Their odd half-moon leaves–two to a plant with a daisy-like flower emerging from the space where the two leaves touch–come in a variety of colors and patterns and, when not in bloom, resemble alien rocks or plump slices of exotic fruit. Living stone plants can be easily propagated by seed, not true of most succulents. Other common names for Lithops include flowering stones and pebble plant.
Uses
Unique and colorful foliage give these plants an artistic, sculptural appeal. Likes lots of sunlight. A south or west-facing window is ideal. Makes a perfect gift plant.
