Features
Tree philodendron is a Brazilian native plant that produces big, deeply-cut leaves that can instantly add an exotic, tropical feel to a bright room or shady outdoor space. This is an easy-to-grow and durable plant that doesn’t require much maintenance, other than removing the occasional dead leaf or stem. Grow with other tropicals for a lush, jungle effect.
In 2018 the tree philodendron was botanically reclassified as Thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum. The previous botanical names, Philodendron bipinnatifidum and Philodendron selloum remain familiar synonyms of this most recent reclassification.
Uses
A spectacular potted plant for large indoor spaces with bright windows. Can also be grown outdoors in a patio planter during the summer and brought indoors for the winter. Excellent for planting along fences and walls outdoors.
