Energizing Strawberry Smoothie

My Garden Life
November 27, 2019

It’s just a fact of
life for most of us that some days are too busy to squeeze in a nutritious
breakfast. The last thing you need is a heavy sit-down meal that will slow
down your race to begin the day. In the time it might take you to grab a
doughnut on the go, you could whip together this power strawberry smoothie
instead. Just pour it in a to-go cup and you’ll be energized, feeling sharp,
and ready to take on the day!

Servings: 1 (can easily be scaled up or down)

Ingredients:

1 cup frozen strawberries (if you are lucky enough to find fresh strawberries this time of year, use them but also blend in 1 cup of ice)
1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup almond milk (plain milk is fine too)
1 banana
1 tablespoon flax seed meal
2 tablespoon chopped fresh mint

Directions:

Place all ingredients except the mint in a blender and mix on high speed until smooth. Pour in a cup and sprinkle mint on top, stirring gently to incorporate.

With almond milk and yogurt for protein, banana and flax seed meal for fiber and essential fatty acids, strawberries for energizing vitamins and antioxidants, and mint for focus and freshness, this smoothie will be all you need to greet the day in top form!
