Garlic and Chives Cheese Spread

Yield: Half a pint

Ingredients

8 ounces Muenster cheese
3 large cloves garlic, minced
5 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon fresh chives
Dash of salt

Directions

Grate the cheese into a medium-size bowl. Add garlic. Stir in mayonnaise, mixing well until creamy. Stir in the chives and sprinkle with salt. Blend well. Refrigerate. Serve at room temperature with thin slices of black bread or French bread.
If serving as an hors d’oeuvre, dress up individual bread slices with a garnish of fresh chives. This would be an excellent recipe to serve with a piece of hearty bread and a bowl of homemade tomato soup!
