Mulled Wine & Cider

My Garden Life
December 7, 2017

Servings: 8

Ingredients

1 (750-ml) bottle red wine, such as Cabernet Sauvignon

4 cups apple cider

1/4 cup honey

2 cinnamon sticks

4 whole cloves

3 star anise

Juice and zest of 1 orange

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan, bring to just boiling then simmer gently over low heat for 10 minutes – vigorous boiling will cause the alcohol to evaporate. Pour into mugs and enjoy.

Wine to cider ratio can be adjusted to taste or use only cider and a bit less honey for a non-alcoholic version.
